Export as well as Upload Directly Using the Plug-In

To upload an IFC model directly to the dRofus model server via the Revit Plug In, select Other > Upload IFC Model:

This will export out an IFC model based on the current Revit model and then upload the same to the default section within the dRofus model server. If an IFC with the same name already exists within the dRofus model server, it will be replaced.

To get the most out of the IFC viewing / validation functionality within dRofus, make sure that the Rooms and Items in dRofus are linked with the corresponding Rooms or Spaces and Family Types in Revit before you export / upload the IFC model . The "Room Function Number" for Rooms and "Item Number" for Family Types must exist within Revit either as new or existing parameters. This will be later used when making adjustments within the IFC Configuration.

Export Using Revit then Upload Using the Client

To first export an IFC model from Revit, select Export > IFC:

And then you can go to the dRofus Client and upload the IFC there. For details on how to do this, go to: Connecting to the IFC Model Server.

See Exporting to Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) on the Autodesk website to learn about required settings in Revit:

Users should include "Export Revit Property Sets" under "Property Sets" and set the "Level of Detail" to "Medium" for best results.

In order to be able to upload IFC models to the dRofus model server, the User must have Model Server Rights.

For more information on IFC with dRofus, go to 04 IFC and BIM.
