The Item Overview contains an overview of the entire Item register. You can open the overview from the Item Panel on the left side. The Item Overview contains different windows with different information pertaining to an item. Users can decide which panel they want to have visible and where to place them in the user interface. In the example below, the default setup of the of Item overview shows some of these panels open including the Navigation Pane, Items, Occurrences, and Properties;

  1. Navigation pane: Navigate the Item function structure created in the database. If you select a level in the structure the Item pane (2) will list all items in all its child levels. Note that the Occurrence pane (5) will also update and show occurrences for all items in selected item function structure location. You cannot remove the Navigation window, only move it to a different location in the item overview.
  2. Items window: The Items window will list all items in the function level selected in the navigation pane. If you select a function level, all items in the function child levels will be listed. The Items window cannot be removed from the interface, only be moved to a different location.
  3. Tabs: By default the tabs for Items, occurrences, import/Export , BIM and log are shown. The Images, Documents and Logs tabs are shown only if the respective panel is opened. If the panel is closed, the tab is not shown.
  4. Ribbon menu: All options that previously were found on the right click menu are now available in the ribbon menu. The ribbon will automatically activate and deactivate available tools dependent on what entity (Item group, Item, Occurrence, product, document etc.) you have selected. If you select an item all options available for items will be active, while other options will be deactivated not related to items. If you select an occurrence you will automatically be transferred to the Occurrence tab and show available options. The Item tab is divided into different sections for Item, Item child, Sub item, Occurrences, Product and Report. By hoovering the cursor over the options you will see a short explanation of what the options do.
  5. Occurrences: Displays list of occurrences for the selected item or items sharing the same function level. Editable occurrences are shown in black (occurrences placed in unique or derived item lists) while non editable occurrences are shown in grey (occurrences in item list from room template of item template.
  6. Properties: To edit an items properties you must have the properties window open while selecting the entity you want to edit (Item function level, Item, Occurrence, document etc.). The properties window will update dependent on what is selected in the item overview. Please note that the type of properties you see in this pane, will change depending on what type of object you have clicked - if you choose an item, item properties for that item will be displayed, if you choose an occurrence, occurrence properties for that occurrence will be displayed etc.
  7. Panels: You can show or hide different panels like occurrences, sub-items, documents, images etc. You also have different layout possible ( default / Simple ). Once you click on a panel, you can drag and drop it to place it where you want on the layout.

Tip:

Item overview has a default setup of panels, however, the users can modify which panels they want to have available and where to place them. The setup a user creates will be remembered for next time they open the item overview.

If you have a hypertext link that you want to use in the items module, any text that starts with http:// or https:// will automatically be recognized as a link, and thus be displayed as such.

If you click on an occurrence in the list (5 above) or a product in a product list, the corresponding item in the item list (2 above) will be displayed in bold. If you cannot find the bold item, check that you see all items in the list - if more than 100 items are in the list, you may have to choose "show all" to see the corresponding item.
