The Area panel can be used for comparing rooms, and programmed area, in the IFC file can compare rooms programmed and designed areas in dRofus to IFCSpaces, and designed areas, in the IFC file. Follow the steps below to access the comparison reports;

...

The image above shows the Area panel with connected to IFC connected. For the purpose of comparing . To compare dRofus with the model, four columns has have been added to the list of functions;

  1. # IfcSpace: Shows a A count of IfcSpaces connected to the function/sub-function. The count includes IfcSpaces that are not properly correctly linked. For example, if an IfcSpace have has an incomplete Room function number like 21.xxx, it will still be counted in the # IfcSpace column in the corresponding function/sub-function in dRofus.

  2. Diff (#Spaces - #Rooms): The column compares the quantity of IfcSpaces in the function/sub-function with the quantity of dRofus rooms.

  3. BIM area: This column displays the sum of the area of the IfcSpace objects that are part of the function/sub-function. The BIM area includes IfcSpaces that are not properly correctly linked with dRofus rooms. For example, if an IfcSpace have has an incomplete Room function number like 01.08 or 01.08.A, this will be included in the area calculation, although this is not a valid room function number in dRofus. In this way, the architect can design or set off areas that will fulfill certain functions without necessarily having the exact room function number. This can be useful in an initial planning , or comparing multiple design alternatives with the area requiremnets requirements set in dRofus.

Info

To be able to display BIM area, the The relevant designed area needs to be part of the Room configuration to display the BIM area. Values do not need to be synced with dRofus, but it must be pat part of the configuration pointing from IFC to dRofus;
