The function synchronize with model ensures that both the model and the room program are updated with information from each other. This requires that the room program and model be connected together by means of the methods mention above, but the synchronization function can also automatically create missing rooms in the model. What is synchronized is partly dependent on the configuration used.
- Update data from model: Activate this if you want to write data from the IFCSpaces to the rooms in dRofus
- Room core: Information about the room core such as name and programmed area will be updated in the model. You will be able to create rooms that may be missing in the model.
- RDS: RDS schema will be updated in the model property set associated with the room.
You can also generate model objects from dRofus (creating a "dummy" model). This applies to both the room and Items. If the goal of synchronization is to check the differences between the requirements and the solution, you should not generate rooms/Items because there will no longer be any difference in the rooms/Items in dRofus and the model.
- Add new rooms: Rooms in dRofus that are not linked to rooms in the model will be created (as IFCSpace objects)
- COBie compliant: See COBie compliant.
- Items: Information and relevant planning articles will be updated (see Overview of Items in dRofus and model.
You will be able to choose which of the above points you want to synchronize by choosing from synchronization dialog box. Please note that this may take some time depending on how much information is being synchronized and how many rooms it involves.
Synchronization can be done in the following ways:
- To synchronize one or more specific rooms, highlight the rooms and select Synchronize with model: Rooms from the menu Rooms->BIM.
- To synchronize an entire function/sub-function or the entire project, right click on the desired level and select Synchronize with model: Project/function.
