When use template

When you have two or more identical rooms it can be an idea to have a template. Room Templates are used to create standardized Room Data, finishes and Item lists for the entire project, such as offices, toilets etc.

With a template you can update the Template and know that all rooms which are meant to be alike will be alike.

Templates are primarily used in larger projects, where the number of Room Templates would otherwise be very high and difficult to maintain within an overview.

Templates are standard which are used to:

  • Create standardized Room Data, finishes and Item lists for the entire projec

  • Create new rooms from the templates

  • Attach data and items to rooms.

  • Templates can hold information pertaining to the Room Data as well as Item Lists or both

  • Be linked to multiple rooms in terms of Room Data + all Item List statuses, or in terms of specific (Room Data only and/or only select Item List) statuses.

  • Change information in several room at the same time. Changes made in a template will be reflected in all rooms linked to the template

  • Add or remove occurrences to the selected room template, equipment template or room.

Templates type

In the Templates for rooms modul you can create:

  • Room Templates

  • Room Data Templates

  • Item Lists Templates

  • Finishes Lists Templates

Item templates, Finishes Templates or Room Data Templates, as opposed to Room Templates, these kinds of Templates are of specific types and each Room Data need, Finishes as well as Item Template are not related to one another. Also, these Templates do not have other core information other than a code and a name.

Project admin can difine name and how many item and finishes list the project has. See exampel of naming below.

Room Templates
