Customize Windows and Panels

As an administrator in dRofus, you can customize fields connected to entities as well as the groupings of the fields.

Fields to the following entities are open for editing:

  • Room Data

  • Project / Function Data

  • Item Data

  • Occurrence Data

  • Procurement

  • Systems Data

Organizational levels

The User Interface Editors are grouped into 4 levels:

  • Tabs

    • Groups

      • Elements

        • Fields

Tabs

A tab is the top level in the User interface editor. In the user interface they are represented as tabs in Room Data/Item Data, or headings in property panels such as the Occurrence or Systems property panels.

In other words, tabs will have different visible presentation depending on where they are used.

A tab can contain one or several groups. is one or more groups. These are displayed as a tab in a form and are grouped in reports.

The figure below illustrates the tabs in the Room Data panel:

Groups

A group comprises several elements, grouped together in the display and reports, e.g. with a background text and frame.

Elements

Element is one or more fields on a line and a background text. An element may comprise, e.g. "basin/utility sink" as background text and two fields; one numerical field for quantity and one text field for any comments.

Fields

Fields are used to type in values to be stored in the database.

Field can be:

  • Yes/No field

  • Text field

  • Numerical field

  • Read-only text fields for description (e.g. "Yes/No specify").

  • etc.
