NB
A room can only be linked to one group within the same group type, but can be linked to several different groups as long as the groups are in different group types.
Groups in reports
Once you have grouped rooms, there are several different reports which can be generated for the different groups. This applies for example to the report for Items in room, Room Data - Room data sheet, Finishes, Cost calculations per room group etc.
Example
A project has to find the budgeted value for Items in different areas in the building. You can create a group type with the name "Budget" for example, create groups under this group type with the names of the different areas and then link the rooms to the groups. You then go to Reports and exports-> Calculations -> Cost calculations per room, select group type "Budget" and generate.
There are two tabs in navigation panel in the room module; Functions and Groups. Under the Functions tab, the rooms are structured according to function. Under the Groups tab, there is the option to group rooms according to other criteria such as user groups, safety zones, leases. Other examples of group types may be building phase, floor level, wing etc. There are no limits in the program for the number of group types created or the types of groups created.
