You can link a Revit Room with dRofus Rooms or dRofus Room Template using the Plug In.
Already Placed Revit Rooms:
Open “Link to dRofus” in the ribbon menu
1: Select a Revit Room in the model
2: Select if you are linking the Revit Room to a dRofus “Room” or “Room Templates”
Find the room by either:
3: Search
4: Navigate
The only visible dRofus Rooms will be those that have not already been linked with a Revit Room.
5: Select dRofus Room
6: Validate that the correct Attribute cunfiguration is selected
7: Select Link
The Selected Revit Room and dRofus Room are now linked.
For New Revit Rooms:
You will need to ensure that "Start tracking" has been activated:
Place the new Revit Room within the model
Following dialog window will pop up
Select the tab "Room"
Search for and select the Room in dRofus that you want to connect the Revit Room to (using the 'Room filter' option and / or browse within the Function Structure on the left-side panel), then select "Link":
Once you have linked a Room, dRofus will update the Revit Room with data from dRofus and vice versa. The data to be updated will depend on the active Room Attribute Configuration.
You can keep the link window open while you select the next Room.
If the active Room Attribute Configuration has been mapped with dRofus' "Room Name" --> Revit's "Name" - the name of the room in dRofus will be applied to the room in the model.
If the active Room Attribute Configuration has been mapped with Revit's "Name" --> dRofus' "Room Name" AND the "Disable edit room names" within dRofus Client is checked by the Project Administrator - an error message saying "Changing the list of predefined Room Names is not allowed" will appear, and the names in both dRofus as well as Revit will remain unchanged, which also means they may be inconsistent.
If the active Room Attribute Configuration has no mapping of Names between dRofus and Revit - the names in both dRofus as well as Revit will remain unchanged, which also means they may be inconsistent.
Within the link window, if you right-click anywhere in the Room list and select "Add/remove columns", you can choose which columns to show in the window. Any Room Properties, System or Room Data attribute can be made to display:
It is also possible to link Revit Rooms to dRofus Room Templates.
Within the dialog for linking:
Select the tab "Room Templates"
Search for and select the Room Template in dRofus that you want to connect the Revit Room to (browse within the list of Room Templates on the left-side panel), then select "Link"
Note that the active Configuration used will then be one for Room Template <-> Revit Room:
