By linking Rooms/Spaces and Family Types in Revit with the corresponding Rooms and Items in dRofus, you can verify and compare the number of Occurrences of Items across multiple selected Room (or Space) in Revit using the "Items in level/model" Panel. This panel presents a side-by-side comparison of the number of Items in the dRofus Rooms and the number of Items in the selected Revit Rooms. This process helps to ensure that the correct number of Items planned in dRofus accurately populates the Room in Revit

Access:

Select "Items in level/model" in the dRofus Add-On ribbon:

View options

This Panel can be kept open and will refresh whenever you select"Run"

The user settings have an impact on the list, therefore can information within the list vary between different users in the same project. Select “Options..” to edit the view settings.

The active attribute configuration have a impact on the linking between Room in dRofus and Revit and the Revit Family Type and Item in dRofus

Some of the settings can be set as default for all users in the function: Model Options.

View Instance vs Occurrences

  1. Select “Type”. If you would like to compare Instance in Revit with Room or Room Template in dRofus

2. Revit filter: Select which Room you would like to include

Within this Panel you are able to display and export a Report as well as address variations between Modeled and Planned. Right-clicking one or more Family Instance / Item Occurrence rows within the list will give you the same contextual options as are available for individual Family Instances / Item Occurrences in the Items in Room Panel. You can also choose to either update all Family instances or all dRofus occurrences in the list by using the "Update Revit" and "Update dRofus" buttons respectively at the bottom of the Panel.

Numbered areas of the panel above are described below:

  1. Revit filter: Allows you to filter which Revit rooms to show in the list. The drop-down options are: "All in schedule", "All placed", "Current level only" and "Selection only". Changing this value will load data from both Revit and dRofus. Populating this list may take some time depending on the size of the Model and the filter selected.

  2. Show: Provides a drop-down menu with the following options:

    • Show all occurrences: Lists all Revit instances / dRofus occurrences as row items.

    • Show occurrences that differs from planned: Lists only those Revit instances / dRofus occurrences where there are discrepancies between planned and designed.

    • Show occurrences which has more than planned: Lists only those Revit instances / dRofus occurrences where the count of Family instances within Revit is more than the count of the corresponding Items within dRofus.

    • Show occurrences which has less than planned: Lists only those Revit instances / dRofus occurrences where the count of Family instances within Revit is less than the count of the corresponding Items within dRofus.
Default is to show only designed occurrences that differ from planned.

  3. dRofus filter: Lets you filter which dRofus Rooms to display in the list. The drop-down field-to-query options here are: "Room Function #", "Room Number", "User Room Number", "Note", "Room Name, "Room Name Description", any custom field created within Names and Numbers section of the Room Core Properties, as well as all Room Group Types. Within the type-in field next to this drop-down menu, you are then able to enter the value to look for within the selected field-to-query.

  4. Run: The list is not generated automatically when the Panel is first opened. This button will generate the list using the currently selected options.

  5. Columns: Lets you add/remove columns for the list. Alternatively, you can right-click anywhere within the list and select "Add/remove columns".

  6. Export: Exports the content of the list to MS Excel. Alternatively, you can right-click anywhere within the list and select "Export to Excel" or alternatively type in Ctrl+E on your keyboard.

  7. Sync Data: Synchronize data between Revit instances and dRofus occurrences. This will not affect quantities, only Parameter / Attribute values that are mapped within the active Instance / Occurrence Configuration.

  8. Update Revit: If there are any discrepancies in quantities between Revit and dRofus within the selected Room(s), Rooms(s) in current level, schedule or all placed Room(s), this option will update Revit to match the quantities of all Item occurrences (the Types of which are linked) across those multiple dRofus Room(s).

  9. Update dRofus: If there are any discrepancies in quantities between Revit and dRofus within the selected Room(s), Rooms(s) in current level, schedule or all placed Room(s), this option will update dRofus to match the quantities of Family instances (the Types of which are linked) across those multiple Revit Room(s). (Only available if the Room in dRofus has it's Item List status as "Derived From" or "Unique").

  10. Sort: Clicking on any of the column headers will sort the list by the values (alphanumerically) against that column.

  11. Options: Opens a dialog with options for the Items in level/model or Items in level/model (spaces) windows as follows:

  1. Hide Sub Items: Allows you to choose whether or not to show Sub-Items within the list.

  2. Hide Items not marked 'To be modeled': Allows you to choose whether or not to show Items that are not marked 'To be modeled' within dRofus.

  3. Look for Items in linked models: Allows you to choose whether or not to check for any Items within linked Revit models.

  4. Using Room Configuration: Shows the active Room Configuration. You can swap to another configuration by first clicking on the active configuration and then selecting the other configuration that you would like to use.

  5. Using Room Template Configuration: Shows the active Room Template Configuration. You can swap to another configuration by first clicking on the active configuration and then selecting the other configuration that you would like to use.

  7. Using Instance/Occurrence Configuration: Shows the active Item Occurrence Configuration. You can swap to another configuration by first clicking on the active configuration and then selecting the other configuration that you would like to use.

  8. Show instances in the model on selection: Allows you to choose to automatically highlight Family instances within the model when navigating within the Items in Room list.

  9. Split occurrences in dRofus if needed when syncing data: Allows you to choose to auto split a single row (but multiple count) of dRofus occurrences if they are linked / matched to Revit Family instances, and at the same different values are being pushed into dRofus using the active Item Occurrence Configuration.

  10. Match instances automatically when syncing data: Allows you to choose to auto match multiple dRofus occurrences to multiple Revit Family instances of the same Type (provided it doesn't not matter to you which specific instances are linked to which specific occurrences).

  11. Categories: Allows you to choose which Revit Family Categories to include within the Items in Room list.

  12. Items responsibility filter: Allows you to choose which dRofus Item Responsibility to include within the Items in Room list.

  13. Model groups: Provides a drop-down menu with the following options:

    • Show groups and grouped instances: Provided Model Groups have been included within the Revit Family Categories Filter, selecting this option will make the list show Model count values for both Revit Model Groups as well as Revit instances (that make up each Model Group).

    • Show groups only: Provided Model Groups have been included within the Revit Family Categories Filter, selecting this option will make the list show Model count values for only Revit Model Groups, and not those for Revit instances (that make up each Model Group).

    • Don't show groups: Even though Model Groups may have been included within the Revit Family Categories Filter, selecting this option will make the list not show Model count values for Revit Model Groups, and instead show only those for Revit instances (that make up each Model Group).
