As mentioned before; Systems represent a logical connection between components. Components represent occurrences of Items/types and can either have system classification and/or item classification. In both cases the Classification must be set on the item so that it can generate unique codes for the occurrences.

As the opening window in Systems also displays the item list, both a System Classification and an Item Classification can be set for each item.

A Component with System Classification is, in our terminology, called a System Component. A System Component, therefore, is an occurrence of an item with the System Classification set to it.

To set an Classification to an Item, select an Item and set the Classification in the properties window (under Classification).

By clicking on «•••» all the possible classifications will be displayed.

Notice

When both an Item and a System Classification are assigned to an Item, the Item Classification will be assigned to the Item and System Classification will be assigned to the occurrence of the Item.
