When you synchronize data between dRofus and Revit there are many options to consider. You may want to create your own attribute configuration for the entities you are going to synchronize, and you can set many different synchronization options before you do so. Examples of this include whether or not to delete unlinked Occurrences, or if dRofus should look for items in linked models when comparing and synchronizing Items in rooms. In total there will be many options set by different users, syncing different entities in a typical building project. With multiple Revit models, disciplines, and people working simultaneously in Revit while synchronizing with dRofus - Model Options can help the users to synchronize data in a consistent manner. Model Options will scan through which options and configurations that are used. As a BIM administrator, you have the ability to save this setup, assign a name and connect it to the Revit model. This way, all users opening the same Revit model will use the same configurations and synchronizing options.

To access Model Options go to Tools-->Model Options;

...

Step 1: Create new Model Options

First time you open Model Options, the list will be empty. Start by selecting New to create new Model Options and assign it a name. The name can reflect the discipline, name of the Revit model, or something more suited for your project.

In the example below, we have chosen the name ‘Architect’ for the Model Option, indicating that this setup should be used for all the architectural models in the project. The window will display current settings such as this:

...

The Model Option is separated in two sections: Attribute Configurations and Other Options.

  1. Name of saved Model Options setup. There can exist many saved Model Option setups, but only one default for one model.

  2. Create new Model Option.

  3. Update active Model Options with current values. In example, if you change attribute configurations or category selection in retrospect, you can update the Model Option to reflect these changes.

  4. Rename selected Model Option.

  5. Delete selected Model Option.

  6. Set selected Model Option as default for the model. The Model Options will then be set for all logged-in users opening this model.

  7. List of Attribute configuration types saved in the Model Option.

  8. Column showing the name of attribute configurations saved in the Model Option.

  9. Description column showing the context in which the options appear.

  10. Sync options, log folders, and category selections saved in the Model Option

Below you can see an example. The values that are set is based on your current selection.

Default Model Option

When setting a Model Option as default, dRofus will insert a Model Options ID in the Project information parameter in Revit. You will be notified that dRofus is creating a new property for this ID as a new shared parameter. This ID is hidden in Revit to prevent unintentional changes to the ID.

...

The Model Options are now stored in the dRofus database and in the Revit Model. So, This means that when a user opens the Revit model and connects to dRofus they will use the default Model Option set by the BIM administrator.
