Room Function number

Each room is uniquely identified using by a unique  room function number. This number stays with the room throughout the building project, and the number is never re-used within the same project for another room, which remains constant throughout the duration of the building project. Within the same project, no other room will be assigned the same number. The room function number is composed of two parts: the room's position within the functional structure in addition to and a serial number, e.g. room no. . For example, a room with the number 01.01.001 will be positioned as follows:

Only users with administration rights are permitted to permanently delete a room. In general, rooms which have been created are rarely deleted, but can be marked as deleted if they are no longer to form part of the project. If a room is to be moved to another part of the structure, the user will be asked whether he/she wants to mark the original room as deleted and create a new room with a new room function number. You will also have the choice to move the room. This operation should not be utilized when the room function number is being used by the project, as the old numbers may be re-used.

Room Properties

The room possesses several essential attributes that are detailed in the room properties. This information includes the room function number, room name, room description, additional room numbers (such as drawing number, designed/geographical room number, and use room number), the programmed area (indicating the planned size of the room), and the designed area (representing the final size of the room as drawn by the architect). Changes to the room properties information and other significant changes to the room are entered in a log known as a room log

Room data and Items Lists

The room is linked to with other information, such as the room data sheet (Room Data) and Item item lists. This is These pieces of information are not normally typically assigned to a room , but which has need to be created for each room. These concepts are explained later in this documentFurther explanations about these concepts will be provided later in this document.

Delete Rooms

Only users with administrative privileges have the authority to permanently delete a room. Typically, rooms that have been created are rarely deleted; however, they can be marked as deleted if they are no longer required as part of the project. When a user intends to relocate a room within the structure, they will be prompted to decide whether to mark the original room as deleted and create a new room with a different room function number. The user will also have the option to simply move the room without deletion. It is important to avoid utilizing this operation when the room function number is in use by the project, as the old numbers may be reused.

Log

Modifications made to the room properties information and any other significant changes related to the room are recorded in a log called the room log.
