To open an item listItem List: From the room list Room Module (ProjectHome->Rooms or room template list (Project) or Room Template Module (Home->Room templatesTemplates).

  • Select the room you want.a Room
  • Right-click on the room Room and click on "item in roomOpen Room", using or use the toolbar Toolbar button or type CTRL+RETURN, or double click on the Room.

An example of an item list is illustrated in figure 32. All the options in this window are available by right-clicking in the window or from the "item in room" menu from the main menu bara Room with multiple Item Lists is shown below. Some of the options are also available from the toolbar. You now have the following options (the majority of which are also available as short-cut keys):

  • Next and  and Previous (ribbon) buttons for navigation to next/previous item list.
  • Edit (open by double-clicking an Item) opens a dialogue box where you can edit quantity and existing quantity for this Item (Figure 33).
  • Click on Open Item to open the Item specification for the Item selected.
  • Click on Sub Item to show the list of sub Item for the Item selected.
  • Click on Existing item to show any existing item linked to this occurrence. Select one of these to open the component in question.
  • Click on New Item to Room Item List.
  • The Show Log option displays a log of changes to the Item List.
  • The Print button provides different report options to generate to Word, Excel or PDF.
  • Add (from ribbon and when clicking right on item):  to open a dialogue box where you can select Item which can be added to the list. This dialogue box allows you to add several Item from the Item database at one time. You can find these either by scrolling through the Item structure or by searching by Item name or number. On the right-hand side of the screen is a list with the Item you want to add to the list. To move an Item from the left to the right, double-click on the Item. If you want to delete Item from this list, double-click again on the Item you want to remove. Once you have selected all the Item you want to add, click on OK.
  • Edit (open by double-clicking an Item) opens a dialogue box where you can edit quantity and other instance data for this Item.
  • Click on Delete Item to delete the Item selected from the list.

  • Delete all deletes all Item in the item list.
  • Undo delete removes on Open Item (from Ribbon and when clicking right on Item) to open the Item Specification for the Item selected.
  • Click on Existing item (from ribbon and when clicking right on item) to show any existing item linked to this occurrence (ref. chapter 12). Select one of these to open the component in question..
  • Click on Delete Item (from ribbon and when clicking right on item) to delete the Item selected from the list
  • Undo delete removes the selection for deletion for the Item. Please remember to do this before saving. If you save first, the delete function will be performed and you will not be able to undo.
  • Click Click Copy from/to to  to copy the item list from or to another roomRoom. If you choose Copy from, you will see a list of other rooms. Select the room you want and click OK. If you choose Copy to, you will be able to copy the item list to one or more other rooms. Select the rooms you want to copy to by clicking them over to the list on the right side. In both cases the room will get the exact same item list and item status as the room you are coping from/to.
  • The item in room log option displays a log of changes to the item list.
  • The Print button gives you different report options to generate to Word, Excel or PDF.
  • Click RDS Item to check all defined rules for a room.
  • The Show IFC Data button shows the Item overview in IFC mode, with the option to view the Item and occurrences drawn and those which are lacking on the drawing. This requires import of IFC data from the drawing program described in 04 IFC and BIM.

Icons and status in the item list

If a note has been attached to the occurrence, this will be shown by a note icon (the same as that used in the room list, ref. Room Module).

  • Split Occurrence (from ribbon and when clicking right on item): If more than 1 item, slit the occurrences of the item in multiple single occurrences.
  • Item list status (ribbon): to change the status of you item list ( unique/derived/from)
  • Move occurrence (from ribbon and when clicking right on item): move occurrence to another room
  • Move Occurrence to : move Occurrence to another Item List within the same Room.
  • Swap Item (from ribbon and when clicking right on item): Swap this item with another item
  • Click on Sub Item (from ribbon and when clicking right on item) to show the list of sub Item for the Item selected.
  • Add/Remove columns (clicking right on header row): display selected items fields/attributes on the item list window.
  • Export to Excel (clicking right or CTRL+E): export the item list window as you see it
  • Refresh (clicking right): refresh the page
