The item pane Items Panel displays a list of the items in the item group within the Item Group that you have selected. If you select a groupGroup in the Navigation Pane, items in all of its sub-groups will also be listed. On the status bar you can see how many items that are listed.
The items may have icons attached showing if they have documents or images attached.

The number of items listed is displayed on the Status Bar (at the bottom of the Items Panel).
You can search for items in the the Navigation pane. Type in part of your search word/number string and press press Enter. You You will see a list of items in the Item pane that matches the Item Panel that match your search criteria.
You can also conduct more advanced searches by going to Advanced search where you can search for all item properties and selecting Search (below the search text box) which will allow you search by any item properties or specifications. You can also save an your advanced search for easy access.
The The Report option option in the Ribbon menu will show a selection of available reports Reports from the items overviewItems Overview.
Ribbon options for Items
If you select an Item you an item you can see which options are available for items in the Ribbon menu;
You can also access most of these option options by right click clicking on an item in the item paneItem Pane.
- New item: Creates a new item in the selected item groupItem Group. The new item will be automatically assigned an item number. A dialogue window will automatically open where you can add additional data to the item. You can edit this data later in the item property paneItem Property Panel. You can also move an item from one item group item Group to another by click clicking & dragdragging. Note that if you move an item, the item will be assigned a new item number dependent on according to which group Group you move have moved it to.
- Open item: Opens Opens the item specifications for reading and Item Specifications for viewing or editing. Specifications can also be viewed/edited by adding the specification pane to the Specification Panel to the user interface.
- Delete item: Deletes Deletes selected item(s). Note that if an item or items already have occurrences in either rooms Rooms or room templates/equipment templatesRoom Templates / Item List Templates, you will get receive a warning message asking for your requesting confirmation.
- Copy item: Copies Copies selected item. This will give provide the copy with a new item numberItem Number, and all propertiesProperties, specificationsSpecifications, pictures Pictures and documents Documents will be copied as well.Show log: Showing log changes for selected item. The log will show changes occurred in all properties and specifications for the item
- Add images: Upload an image and attach it to the item. Images and documents are explained in detail here.
- Add document: Upload Upload a document and attach it to the item. Images and Documents are explained in detail here.
- Link to documents: If If you've already uploaded a document Document you can attach existing documents to the item. This way you avoid duplicate documents Documents in the database. . Images and Documents are explained in detail here.
- Transfer occurrences: Transfers Transfers all occurrences Occurrences of the selected item to another item. Note that occurrences Occurrences that are subSub-items will not be transferred to the other item. See (Refer also more in the section chapter for subSub-items).
Properties and specifications
Information relating to an item appears in two different panels; Properties and and also Specifications. In many cases you will want to have both of these panels available visible when working with items. . See Chapter 10.3 for how to customize the User Interface;
Specification pane Panel can also be placed under the Item pane for more the Item Panel to save on screen space
In the properties pane Properties Panel you have following options;:
- Item number: Database Automatically generated number reflecting indicating where the item is placed located in the item group structureItem Group Structure.
- BIM ID: Optional additional number/ID to user code for the item
- Name: Name of the item
- Price: Normally Usually item budget price
- Save: Saves Saves changes
- Price date: The date when the budget price was obtained
- Price comment: Any additional information about regarding the budget price
- Reference: Free text field for different uses
- To be modeled: Tagging of items to be represented in the model. If this is not checked, the item will not be available for linking Linking or synchronization Synchronization through the the plugins for Revit and ArchiCAD. The item must also be set to to To be modeled to to be included in BIM validation in within the dRofus client program.
- ASE: (Architecturally Significant Items) Is normally set on checked for items that set have special requirements on in the design and technical installations for the rooms Rooms that the item occurs in. These items is normally are usually important to identify in an early phase of design.
- Responsibility: Associate the item to a responsibility group. Responsibility groups says normally something about Responsibility Group. Responsibility Groups is a way to allocate who is responsible for planning and update data of the updating the data for an item, and but not necessarily who is to model the item. It may, for example. occur happen that the architect will model items across several responsibility groupsResponsibility Groups.
- Budget: Associate Associate the item to a selected budget group.
- Tender Group: Associate Associate the item to a tender groupTender Group. For those projects that use the procurement module using the Procurement Module in dRofus.
- Default product: Determine Indicates a default product Product for all occurrences of the item. For more information, see refer the section regarding chapter regarding Products.
- Note: Optional comment Optional comments for selected item.
The fields in the properties pane are fixed fields and the Properties Panel are inbuilt fields which are the same in all dRofus databases. The specificationsSpecification fields, however, are project Project specific and may be modified by the project Project administrator or by dRofus support.
Both properties Properties and specifications Specifications can be changed modified for multiple selected items in the same operation. When you select several items in the items pane Items Panel you'll see have check boxes to the left of each propertyProperty field box. Enable the properties you want to edit and enter a the new value. Save your changes by clicking "Save";
